At IPG, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a core component of our corporate strategy. Our approach to environmental stewardship is deeply integrated into our daily operations, driving innovation and leading the packaging industry towards a more sustainable future.
Sustainable Value Networks (SVNs) Our SVNs are the heartbeat of our sustainability efforts. Inspired by the Cradle-to-Cradle Certified Products Program, these networks collaborate across the company to ensure our products and processes positively impact people and the planet. We focus on five key pillars: Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air & Climate Protection, Water and Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness.
Eco-Conscious Corporate Strategy Sustainability is one of the four primary pillars of our corporate strategy. We’re committed to addressing key materiality measures with measurable outcomes and clear timelines. To track our progress, we’ve implemented EcoVadis scoring, which quantifies our success and that of our suppliers across four main pillars: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
We’ve set ambitious goals to reduce our environmental footprint significantly. By 2025, 75% of our packaging products will be recyclable, reusable, or compostable, and we aim for 100% by 2030 We’re also working towards obtaining 50% of our energy from renewable sources by 2030 and reducing energy intensity by 2.5% per year.
A Few of our Sustainable Products
Emerald Bubble Packaging: Designed to protect fragile items during shipping, Emerald bubble packaging is made from recyclable materials, reducing waste and environmental impact.
Paper Void Fill: IPG provides paper-based void fill materials that cushion products inside boxes. These are eco-friendly alternatives to traditional plastic-based void fill materials.
Water-Activated Tape: IPG’s water-activated tape is an environmentally conscious choice for sealing packages. WAT is made from renewable resources and is recyclable with the carton it securely seals.
Additionally, IPG has introduced carton sealing tapes (such as the 100e, 170e, and 260e+) made with recycled materials, further promoting sustainability in packaging. These options allow businesses to reduce their reliance on non-sustainable packaging materials and contribute to waste reduction efforts.
In conclusion, IPG is not just making tapes and packaging products; we’re leading a movement. Through our unwavering commitment to sustainability, we’re transforming the packaging industry and creating a greener, more responsible future.
